Getting into scenic design and my current life:
My name is Ciera Keller and I am a student scenic designer studying at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
I was born in Elgin, Illinois and grew up in both East Dundee and Huntley. I have always enjoyed art since I was a kid, going to different art camps and events. My dad's side of the family built up remodeling company that includes designing so I have been around different designs of kitchens and bathrooms growing up as well.
In my third year of high school, I got into theater and theater design and designed my first ever set. This was the Clue: High School Edition play. I learned that I loved this art form and continued designing until I graduated.
After high school, I took on a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a concentration of Scenic Design. My interest in design continues to grow and I am currently doing my own research in interactive scenic design like theme park attractions and environments!
