Willy Wonka Jr. was a show that involved working close with different student designers. The process of this show included researching the different rooms that appear in the musical and creating a very colorful and eye-catching set to look at. The rooms I got to design were the invention room, the chocolate river room, and the main gates. I also got to be apart of the technical crew for the first time in this show by being a stage-hand backstage.
Sketches
We decided to split up the rooms and have each designer focus on a separate room of the factory. We discussed the overall style and idea of the factory before creating sketches. I decided to do the chocolate river room and the invention room. I also helped design the gate and sign.
Construction / Painting
After finishing the design we started on construction. I personally focused a lot on the invention room pieces as well as the sign on top of the gates.

Here are the finished sets that I designed for Willy Wonka.
